MOUNT AIRY, NC – The employees at Renfro were once again recognized at the company’s NC locations for the most outstanding United Fund campaign at the annual awards banquet on March 6th. The overall community campaign is slightly over $460,000 or at 90% of the $515,000 goal. Campaign Chair for Surry Ron Sutphin said, “there were a couple of companies still in the process of receiving funds and hopes are high that the community will reach the goal.”
Renfro contributed over $80,000 towards that goal, and were the single largest group of contributors. Renfro was recognized twice during the event. Employee Betty Freeman Rework Associate from our Mount Airy Distribution Center was individually recognized for leading with 100% participation at the DC and received the Hometown Hero Trophy. The total participation rate for the corporate office was 82%.
A total of 26 agencies within our community will benefit from the United Fund campaign and will provide support and serve over 50,000 people in need. A big thank you to those who contributed towards the campaign and volunteered to be on Renfro’s 2013 committee.
